Artist and Iconographer
Christine Simoneau Hales is a contemporary artist (christinehales.com) as well as a Master iconographer who teaches icon writing to artists as well as to people who are not familiar with painting. She is an award winning painter and holds a BFA in Painting from Mass Art in Boston, and an MS in art Therapy from the College of New Rochelle, NY. She has studied with several Iconographers over a fifteen year period, studied classical portraiture in Florence, Italy, and Egg Tempera with Koo Schadler. Her icons are in many churches and private collections. Christine lives and works in the Hudson Valley, New York, and Sarasota, Florida, with her photographer husband, Mick Hales.
Christine has completed several large Icon commissions- 8' x 4' egg tempera panels, for churches and monasteries in addition to more traditional, smaller panels for private and public commissions.
